Harry Potter: Final Copy

Harry Potter

This story is about those missing years we didn’t get told about. The years between Harry being dropped off at the Dursely’s and before he gets his acceptance letter to Hogwarts.
Harry’s cousin Dudley had a sister, who died shortly after birth. Her name was April. She was born when Harry was 5 years old.

Screaming came from the room next door and from the little boy next to Harry. His cousin Dudley was crying for some attention as he wasn’t getting any because his mother was having a baby. Harry was excited; he was sick of Dudley and would love company from someone who didn’t hate him. He never understood why they hated him so much, his aunty, uncle and cousin, they just did. Vernon, Harry’s uncle, came running from the room with the screaming, crying. This frightened Harry because they didn’t look like happy tears.

“What’s wrong Uncle Vernon?” questioned Harry.

“She…she…she’s…” Vernon couldn’t bring himself to finish.

“Daddy, daddy he hit me” yelled Dudley who was pointing his rather large finger at Harry.

“Did not” Harry retorted.

The screaming continued from the room that Vernon had just exited. Harry decided he should check on things, make sure everything was OK. Harry was very smart and wise for his age, he could do the times tables up to six and he was very good at sensing when things weren’t quite right. Harry peered round the corner of the open door, and all he seemed to see was white coats and worried expressions. He could not see his Aunt Petunia and this worried Harry even further. Then he saw it. The tiny, still, lifeless body. Harry was confused.

Aren’t babies meant to be crying after they are born? Thought Harry. That’s what happened on the TV. Harry slowly walked into the room to investigate. He found his Aunty who was now only silently sobbing, tears rolling down her face.

“Wha…what’s happened?” he asked

“Go away! It’s all your fault! Get out!” She yelled back at him.

“But, I…I didn’t do anything”

Harry left, but was extremely confused as to why this was his fault. Maybe she was just venting? Taking it out on the nearest person? But Harry felt that he didn’t deserve this. Harry mindlessly wandered up the corridor, down the stairs and out the door. Still contemplating how this was his fault. He wound up at a strange park, and was now filled with so much anger, you’d be shocked it came from such a young boy. He started shouting, which gained him some strange looks.

“It’s not my fault; I never did anything to deserve how they treat me!”
“If anything they should me nicer to me, I’m the one who lost my parents, my family” Harry said a little calmer.

After about an hour of silence around him, but in his head it was as loud as the school playground at playtime, Harry had fallen asleep. When he woke up he found himself in his bedroom, the closet under the stairs. He had no recollection of how he ended up there. He knew for sure that his aunt and uncle would not have gone looking for him. They would have preferred he didn’t go home. But how did he end up there?

Harry left his room to figure out what time of day it was and to check if anyone else was in. He checked the kitchen first as this was generally where you find Vernon or Dudley, but no one was there. He then checked the lounge, the next best place to find them, but not a soul was there either. Harry then did the rounds upstairs and again no one to be found.

“Huh” Harry didn’t know what to do next.

He ended up making himself a snack and sitting down at the table to eat. He wasn’t sure what exactly happened last night. All he could remember was falling asleep against a tree. Harry wasn’t sure why he was at the park, or where his aunt and uncle were or where they could’ve been. He was so confused and anxious to know what had happened.
He decided to go next to see his neighbor, Arabella Figg who occasionally babysat Harry, When the Dursley’s didn’t want him to be seen. He knocked on her door.

“Hi Mrs Figg. Do you know where my aunt and uncle are?”

“Oh, Hello Harry. Well…I’m…actually…well…”Said Arabella, struggling with what to say. “Ah, Go home Harry. Stop bothering me! I’m sure they’ll be home soon.” She said rather angrily this time.

This took Harry aback. So he turned around and stumbled home. Where the Dursley’s didn’t arrive home to for a week. Neither the Dursley’s nor Harry ever found out what had happened. Petunia never remembered being pregnant or having a baby. It’s almost like it didn’t happen. Those nine months had been erased from their minds. Except the dream Harry had a couple years later, that almost felt too real.

Qunhua's 10 Fanfic Links

1. My Girl
Beacuse of a Bee by Emmerlii

So far, this is one of my favorite fan fictions. The author concentrated a love story to be a touching poem.  The whole poem has a theme 'because of a bee' running through from start to finish. 'Because of a bee, you were taken from me; Because of a bee, we all lost you'
Not only did reproduce the story also sublimated the love.

2. Spider-Man

Now Spider-Man is Jan's husband. They live in the real world and have a very oridinary life. But Spider-Man still is a hero who has supernatural power. He is not just an ordinary woman's husband and also a superman. Whenever spider sense took he has to leave home and follow his journey even Jan was baking the favourite cake for him. Such things make her very angry. She tried to change her mind and make spider man to learn her sense. So she left.

I really like this version. From the ideal back to reality, we will find that a lot of things are not same as our imagination.

3.Phantom of the Opera: The Aftermath

The aftermath by Ellie Nocua

This fiction's end is a dialogue of Christian and the Phantom. Christian has despaired who had no choice but to use lies to deceive herself. The Phantom killed her lover Raoul and hanged his body on the wall. The poor Phantom still failed to ger her love. He felt himself like a foolish man. Extreme inferiority led him to the abyss of suffering.

I would love to have no ending of the works. If it has ends it will be lost a lot probability of imagination. The version just was one of probability of countless.

In my mind, this works would not be ended.

4.Princess Bride

'As You Wish'

The author described the happy life of the princess after marriage. An obviously title 'As You Wish' told readers this story would not be a surprising ending. Princess and her husband lived on a farm. They enjoyed their simply and sweet married life.

This is a good version. In our childhood, the story of the Prince and Princess who were always experiencing setbacks and suffering then lead a happy life. It was a continuity of our memories of the childhood.

5.Thousand Years of Darkness!

I found it in Misc. Books by PhantomWraith.

In this poem, the author devoted 30 'no more' to express his expectations and revealed the reality.'no more sorrow , no more pain, in this rain; no more honest, things to tell'

It might be a 17-year-old child desperate complaints and pray for the real world.

I was shocked and moved.

6.A Different World and 100%Wolf Crossover

Blood Beast by Miz Magick
This is a crossover story. Author fancied herself as the portagonist Alina of the story. She used the first person to tell a stoty. ''I lost in a totally strange dark world. The only thing is to desperately run, run home. In this world, home seems to be increasingly remote. In a dark world, i was attacked by an evil girl who has wolf's teeth. She told me i was dead. When i woke up with start an choked. I wanted to escape the world. Here was the hell, I finally sighed, stepping forward.''

At the end of the story, the author said "letting my fear have it's way on this night". I think this adaptation just like our own diary which was one of our nightmare we written. I also think that dream is our subconscious reaction to he real world.

7.Fanfic Bosten Legale

The fanfiction Balcony Scene, a Bosten Legale by Osarwothy.
Bosten Legale is a humor drama television series which is about a group of famouse lawyers' story in a legal firm of Bosten. The television series which also was one of I ever had watched American television. In the series television, balcony scenes are always being showed at trailers. It was impressing. Both Alan and Denny they often talk about topic what about life, law suit cases, women, future plan etc at the balcony. In this part, the author chose one topic that is marriage. The author unlisted the characteristics of sperm whales to describe the relationship between female with male. Actually I am not really agreed with the author's opinion. But i still quite using metaphor in writiing. Metaphor is a very intelligent way of rhetoric. It used skillfully in articles which might make the article become more attractive.

8.Review on Mamma Mia

Review on Mamma Mia
The reason I chose this adaptation because it is one of the most wonderful English music film what I have ever seen.It also the firt film I watched after I came here in July 2008.It also the first time, in 90 minutes I heard so many classic English songs . After reading the totally negative comments, I do not agree with the author's point of view. He used rather extreme words to describe how bad film it is from seven different aspects.Actually, I cannot agree with this view. However, learned about the reasons why author wrote these.I might understand author's situation.Similarly, students who are learning English writing, we encountered a similar problem. As a fanfic,I donot think this is a good mode. However, I still think that is a difficult adaptation to negate widely accepted and popular works.

9.A Little Princess: Sarah's Sorrow

Sarah's Sorrow
This was a fairly brief version. It was talking about Sarah who was told that her father died and she had lost all.Beause of the money owed school, she had to work as a servant to repay the debt.Through the eyes, facial expressions, languages, actions of the description, and vividly portray the performance of different positions of people. In here, Sarah hardly to say anything, but her numb limbs has instead all words of her. Readers have been able to deeply feel the pain of her.

I think this is a successful fanfic. A touching version. When I was reading I felt like being in there.

10.Bride and Prejudic

Bride and Prejudic was adapted from Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice".
Chapter One: The Meeting
People are talking about three young people who think they must be very rich.Because the most expensive manor "Wasahari no Rei" has already been leased to them. Indifidually, three were named Naraku Hatsumaura, Sesshoumaru and Yasha who were participating in the Sesshumaru's young brother's wedding in a village. Respectively,Naraku and Sesshumaru who took fancy to Mrs Barushita's two beautiful daughters at the wedding. It seemed a concidence, Mrs Barushita's appearance to make these two gentlemen have created an opportunity to get close to girls. Naraku's step-sister was very jealous. The two gentlemen went to visit Barushita family, and Mrs Barushita introduced her five daughters to them. A matter of fact,in gentleman's mind, the foolish but lovely woman who was a real wily person.

Power, wealth, beauty, jealousy is always co-exist. The authors used the form of anime humor woven out of a wonderful realistic works. I like this kind of writing practices.

My fanfic "The Gift of Magi"

“The Gift of the Magi”

O Henry is one of my favourite writers whose works are very interesting and incredible. I adapted his story to share with you guys.

The Magi, as you know, were wise men--wonderfully wise men--who brought gifts to the Babe in the manger. They invented the art of giving Christmas presents. Being wise, their gifts were no doubt wise ones, possibly, the gifts will bring unexpected luck to people, who knows? Anyway, this is the Christmas gift…

Tomorrow should be Christmas. During the year, Della and Jim who were loving but poor newly married couples. They did not celebrate any festival, nor to send each other any gift. There were not any decent furniture and furnishings. The old carpet exuded smell of damp and creaking staircase which showed they lived in a shabby loft. Economic depression, Jim’s salary had been reduced just enough to maintain basic living. Tomorrow should be Christmas, the hostess of the poor family were worry about how to celebrate the family’s first Christmas? Della stood up and over to the bed in a brown wood box where had her all saving under the bed.

One dollar and eighty-seven cents, to buy a decent Christmas gift for her beloved husband. Della had saved for more than six months, just one dollar and eighty-seven cents. She said to herself, too little money to buy a gift that she had been fancy about, which could be a simple, plain designed platinum watch chain. This is the only stuff might be worthy of Jim’s golden watch which is inherited from his grandfather, and it is Jim’s glory.

Jim was her husband who was a low status of civil servant. Although he was an architectural genius but he did not meet any good opportunity to play his talent. In her mind, she has always convinced that Jim would become a great architect. Actually, Jim also has been unremitting efforts to this aim. He was the beloved husband of Della. Jim’s character just like that plain watch chain. It disclosed a kind of determined light under simply surface. Della was so in love with him.

There is no other way, and she had already been resolved. In front of the mirror Della carefully combed her beautiful long hair and said to herself in heart “by-by”. It seemd to do a kind of prayer before farewell.

Walking in the street, Della felt that was unusual excitement. The time was Christmas Eve, every on were doing the final preparations for the grandest festival in a year. At this point, there were twenty one dollars and eighty-seven cents in her pockets, and she could not wait to go to that watch store which located on the other side of the city. She seemed to have forgotten the suffering of selling beloved long-haired. She just wanted to buy that watch chain quickly and was afraid of someone would buy before her.

That precious gift has been wrapped carefully using a silk handkerchief. With a pleasant mood, walking on the way home, Della heard that birds were singing, it was incredible in the cold winter in the cold Christmas. More than that, she also heard the whispering angles.

Yes ah, the winter has come and spring is following.

Della had completed the biggest wish of the year, even she lost her most proud of the water-fall hair. For her favorite person, she believed that everything was worth for her. She could not help imagining in her mind what Jim looked like when he received this gift. Della smiled with satisfaction and happiness. She seems to presentiment that their poor lives will be a beautiful miracle.

Della bought two pieces of steak and some sweet potato for their festival dinner. Last eighty-seven cents in her hand, this is all. It was time to go back home to prepare dinner. Della quickened the pace, and she also wanted to go back earlier to make herself as beautiful as possible without her long hair, at least, she did not want to let herself looked too unsightly in the special occasion.

Walked, she met a ragged old lady who begged Della to give her some money. The lady were full of kind from her eyes. Della did not reject and gave all the money to her. “God bless you and angel will achieve your desire. Thank you, good people” the old lady said.

Penniless, Della returned home. Might be too tired, she felt sleepy unconsciously on the rocking chair beside the dinning table.

She had a dream, there was a really angel who holding a flashing magic wand came to her, and told her that "I will restore your beautiful hair". In the dream, De la found her hair was restored and moved to tear. Della was awakened and thought it was just a dream, but she felt everything was too real, still full of tears in her eyes. Then she ran to the mirror and was shocked!

An angel had really come……
